Terms of Service

These terms apply whenever you browse or use Allegany County Recent Arrests. Using the site means you agree to them. If you do not accept these conditions, do not continue to use the service.

This privately owned reference is not affiliated with Allegany County, any sheriff, jail, corrections department, or government body. It helps visitors locate Maryland inmate and jail-record resources, but it is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency. Neither this site nor its advertising partners offers an FCRA-covered service for credit, employment, insurance, or tenant screening.

The Nature of This Website

Allegany County Recent Arrests is an independent reference with no government authority. It does not keep official records, confirm custody, release a person, or file a request or court document for a visitor.

Its role is to identify county inmate, jail, police, court, and Maryland corrections resources and to connect visitors with independent research tools when offered.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the site responsibly and only for lawful purposes. In particular, you must not:

  • violate any local, state, or federal law;
  • use information to stalk, harass, intimidate, or threaten anyone;
  • make employment, housing, lending, or insurance decisions from site content;
  • seek access to an account, system, or data without authorization;
  • operate automated bots, crawlers, or scrapers against the service; or
  • interfere with the site or another visitor’s ability to use it.

No Consumer Reports or FCRA Use

Allegany County Recent Arrests is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not supply background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports, and neither do its advertising partners through this site. You agree not to use any site information for:

  • hiring, discipline, or termination decisions;
  • housing or tenant screening;
  • creditworthiness, lending, or insurance premiums;
  • licenses, permits, or government-program eligibility; or
  • any other purpose regulated by the FCRA.

Outside Websites and Services

Links may lead to jail rosters, law-enforcement pages, Maryland DPSCS, government portals, legal-help resources, and outside search services. A link does not mean that we endorse the destination. We do not control its content, privacy practices, terms, prices, or uptime, so review the destination’s own rules.

Service Provided “As Is”

The site and all content are supplied “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranty about:

  • the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of information;
  • continuous or uninterrupted availability;
  • the absence of errors, bugs, or security weaknesses; or
  • the scope or completeness of results from a partner tool.

Custody status and public records can change quickly. Nothing here is an official statement by the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, detention center, court, or another public body.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, this site and its owners, operators, and partners are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from access to, reliance on, or inability to use the service.

Your Duty to Indemnify

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the site, its owners, operators, and partners harmless from claims, losses, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from your use of the service or your violation of these terms.

Ownership of Site Materials

Unless otherwise stated, the text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Allegany County Recent Arrests or its content partners. You may not copy, distribute, modify, or republish them without prior written permission.

Revisions to These Terms

We may revise these terms at any time. A revised version becomes effective when it is posted on this page, and continued use means acceptance of the new terms.

Suspension or Termination of Access

We may restrict, suspend, or end access to all or part of the site at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

Maryland Law Governs

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute must be filed in a court with proper jurisdiction in Maryland.

Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms stay in effect. The affected provision will be limited or adjusted only as much as needed to make it enforceable.
